Dubailand

Dubailand is another extremly ambitious mega-project in Dubai. Dubailand is an enormous entertainment complex which will cover an area of 3 billion square feet. Dubailand contains of 45 projects and over 200 sub projects to create the ultimate tourist destination. Dubailand shall appeal to everyone regardless of age and nationality. When Dubailand is completed it will be twice the size of the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Development started in 2005. It is built in four phases. The completion date is scheduled around 2018. In the first phase roads and infrastructure will be developed. The next phases concentrate on the entertainment products.

Dubailand will become a full featured city which is divided into six “worlds”.

The Attractions and Experience World will feature theme and water parks with thrilling attractions and rides. All in all there will be a total of 16 projects: Aqua Dubai, Astrolab Resort, Aviation World, Snowdome, Dubai Wheel, Dubailand Theme Park, Falcon City of Wonders, Fantasia, Giants World, The Global Village, The Islamic Culture and Science World, Kids World, Legends-Dubailand, Planetarium, Space and Science World, Tourism Park.

The Retail and Entertainment World will feature the Flea Market, the World Trade Park, the Auction World, Factory Outlets and more.

The Sports and Outdoor World will include a mix of sporting venues for sports tournaments as well as extreme sports activities. It will feature five projects: Dubai Autodrome, Dubai Sports City, Extreme Sports World, Dubai Golf City, Plantation Equestrian and Polo Club.

The Themed Leisure and Vacation World will be a world of relaxation and wellness with resort hotels, wellness retreats with spas and health clubs. This world will contain 6 projects: Andalusian Resort & Spa, The Indian Theme Resort, LEMNOS Women’s World, The Nubian Village, The Silver Street Resort, Thai Express Resort.

The Eco-Tourism World will feature a series of nature and cultural attractions within their desert parklands. This world will contain seven projects: Al Barari, Dubai Heritage Village, Life World, Pet Land, Safari Park, Sand Dune Hotel, Tropical Village.

Downtown takes into account that one of the favorite activities of tourists on vacation is shopping. The largest mall of the world will be the Mall of Arabia where tourists can spend their money in boutiques and discount stores. If you’re done with shopping you can be entertained in one of the numerous entertainment facilities such as cinemas, bowling, street entertainment, games centers, restaurants and night clubs. Downtown features also the City Walk, the Virtual Game World and the Great Dubai Wheel, which will be the largest Ferris wheel of the world.

Dubailand is expected to attract 200,000 visitors daily. The venture will cost approx. 20 billion dollars.
