Heritage Village and Diving Village

At the end of the creek, close to the sea, there is the Al Shindagha district. This is the North of Bur Dubai district and the place where 1997 the Heritage and Diving Village was built.

The Heritage Village is a replica of an old Arabian settlement where you learn about the Arabian culture, history and tradition of Dubai. You’ll find stone houses from the mountain regions, Bedouin tents, markets and other attractions of oriental lifestyle. The Heritage Village is not only interesting for American and European tourists, but it’s also very popular by people from Dubai.

Dubai Heritage VillageThe Diving Village or “Pearl Village” offers traditional souks, galleries about pearlfishing and pools where pearl diving techiques are shown.

The best time to visit the Heritage and Diving Village is in the late afternoon. You’ll need approx. two to three hours for a visit, because there is so much to discover and experience.

Visit also the Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum House, the Sheikh’s palace is now an interesting museum only 330 yards away from the Heritage Village.
