Al-Khor - Dubai Creek

The Al-Khor or Dubai Creek divides Dubai in two parts: Bur Dubai and Deira. The creek is about 7 miles long.

The creek is the center of Dubai’s life. Discover the city with water taxis (abra) from the Garhoud Bridge to the estuary mouth or walk along the creek. Try one of the numerous restaurants and watch the loading of the dhows.

Al-Khor - Dubai CreekThe water taxis are very affordable and you can see most of the historic and modern sightseeing spots. On the South end of the creek there is a lagoon, the Khor Dubai Wildlife Sanctuary. This is the home of flamingos and other migratory birds. In fall you get the chance to watch up to 27,000 migratory birds on their way to the Southern Africa.
